My name is Cecelia and I have been teaching for ten years. I always knew that teaching was the career for me since the early days of playing school in my room.
I graduated from Southern Methodist University in 2013 with a bachelor’s degree in psychology and Education. I started my teaching career in a 5th grade reading classroom. I was in love from day one! I taught using novel studies and found a passion for teaching reading.
After three years in upper elementary, I decided to give lower elementary a try. I taught 2nd grade for three years and fell in love! I found my true calling when I began working with the little ones. I loved teaching early literacy, it is amazing to see how much of an impact we make in our students lives.
Teaching a child to read is one of the best things you can ever give them. I followed this passion and went to graduate school at Southern Methodist University. I graduated with a master’s degree in Education with a specialty in early literacy in 2019.
I am using my degree to help children develop a love for reading as a reading interventionist. I also work closely with teachers on my campus to find the best resources, plan the most effective lessons, and find joy in their classrooms every day.
I want to continue to share my resources with the world. Please feel free to reach out with feedback, questions, or concerns! I am always here to help!
