It's time for Thanksgiving break! But let's spend this holiday break with NO prep for the upcoming weeks of December. I know I can be grateful for a week of no school and no prep / planning.
As a reading interventionist I spend a lot of time with my kindergarteners and first graders targeting CVC words. I LOVE teaching CVC Words and I think this is the best stage for students. It is when they truly learn how to decode words and READ!
I use my CVC Intervention Unit on a daily basis, it has over 200 pages of print and ready to go activities. There are seven weeks worth of lesson plans with aligned activities and data collection.
Each week students will work on a targeted short vowel. I thought I would share with you the resources for week six, a mixed review of short vowels. By this point in the school year you have hit all short vowels, therefore you are ready for mixed review. This is an awesome resource and if you have some students who need even more practice be sure to grab the entire set at my store!

Each week has a variety of different activities for you and your students. I wrote an entire blog post about this resource here. But let me tell you about some of the activities now too!
Students practice phonemic awareness skills with sound boxes, and "tap it out" activities. Your scholars get a chance to use their hands on learning skills by building CVC words with letter tiles or magnets or with a Find and Color Activity. Your kiddos practice reading CVC words within short comprehension passages too! Plus loads more like Word Play worksheets and Dab the Correct Vowel worksheets too!
You can grab the full resource here at my TpT store, or download a sample below!
